The UK’s Food Standards Agency has issued a food alert, stating that the multi-pack Sausage & Tomato flavour crisps contain lactose, which is not labelled, while the multi-pack Roast Chicken flavour contains unlabelled whey protein. Consumption of these products could be unsafe for people with a milk allergy or who are lactose intolerant, the food safety watchdog said.

Sainsbury’s has undertaken a full product withdrawal. Product withdrawal notices appeared in the national press today (17 November) and in-store notices are being displayed in all Sainsbury’s outlets.

No other Sainsbury’s products are known to be affected.
