IT jobs accounted for a 0.74% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2022, registering a decrease of 0.45% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 29.74% in November 2022, a 23.81% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 27.88% in November 2022, marking a 13.64% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 18.59% in November 2022, a 40.48% drop from October 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 10.19% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s food industry during November 2022 over previous month.
J. R. Simplot posted 62 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a decline of 16.22% over the previous month, followed by Nestle with 53 jobs and a 381.82% growth. Rich Products with 25 IT jobs and Bunge with 24 jobs, recorded a 21.88% drop and a 25% drop, respectively, while Performance Food Group recorded a 12.5% increase with 9 job postings during November 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s food industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s food industry IT hiring activity with a 92.94% share in November 2022, a 27.75% decrease over October 2022. Canada featured next with a 5.58% share, up 7.14% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.49% share, a growth of 33.33% compared with October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.51%, down by 32.14% from October 2022. Entry Level positions with a 19.33% share, registered a decline of 21.21% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 18.96% share, flat growth over October 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 5.2%, recording a month-on-month decline of 36.36%.
