Thai shrimp exporters have vowed to fight any attempt by the US to impose anti-dumping tariffs on their shipments.

The Thai Frozen Food Association denied accusations by US producers that Thai shrimp exporters have been selling their products on the US market at low prices.

“I would like to emphasise that Thailand sells shrimp in the US market and elsewhere at fair prices,” Panisuan Jamnarnwej, president of the Thai Frozen Food Association told Reuters.

“Thailand is making profits from selling shrimps in the US market. We have done nothing wrong and we will fight the case.”

US shrimp producers have asked the US government to impose anti-dumping duties of up to 230% on shipments of shrimp from Brazil, China, Ecuador, India, Thailand and Vietnam.
