US cereal maker Kellogg has it has commenced construction of a new production facility in Toluca, Mexico.
The Toluca facility will be the company’s third manufacturing operation in Mexico, and is in direct response to its strong sales of snacks in Mexico, Kellogg said.
“Since 1951, when we built our first manufacturing facility in Mexico, we have experienced outstanding growth. This project extends our capability to offer Mexican consumers innovative products of the highest quality and wholesome nutritional value,” said chairman and CEO Carlos Gutierrez.
“The State of Mexico’s economic and industrial growth, and its proximity to key markets, represent an excellent opportunity for the further expansion of our business,” said Juan Pablo Villalobos, managing director of Kellogg Mexico.
