Nestle is to cut the sugar and up the milk used in the recipe for kids-focused confectionery brand Milkybar.
The company is to reduce the amount of sugar in its Milkybar range by 9%.
However, Nestle said the percentage of milk “in the new core range recipe” will increase from 26% to 37.5%.
The UK will be the first market to see the new recipe, with countries including Brazil and India to follow, a spokesperson said.
The move follows Nestle’s announcement that from April its new recipe for KitKat would include 20% more milk and 13% more cocoa.
In February, Nestle announced a “global commitment” to cut the sugar in its food by 5% by 2020.
